Catching Fire

I just finished Catching Fire last night. I read it in basically one sitting, taking me roughly four hours. I thought that I would write a review for it- why not? Don't worry, I'll try not to give anything major away.

The story starts off half a year from where The Hunger Games ended, the day that the Victory Tour is supposed to kick off. Both Peeta and Gale are ignoring her. The only people (other than her family, of course) that she really every sees are Madge, the mayor's daughter, and Haymitch. The entire Victory Tour part  doesn't contain much detail, unfortunately. The only time when you really hear anything about it is while they stay in District 11, District 8, and the Capitol. The first 170 or so pages are devoted to reintroducing the reader to the events of the last book, the Victory Tour, and Katniss/Peeta/Gale's relationships. I found this part a little bit boring to read, certainly not as good as the last book. It was sprinkled here and there with dry wit on Katniss', Haymitch's, and Cinna's behalves. Fortunately, things began to look up (or down, if you're in Katniss' shoes) when President Snow announced the Quarter Quell...

For future CF readers: Here's a hint. Go back through your copies of Catching Fire and look for the name Johanna Mason...

Kiki Strike!

Followers of Kristen Miller's Kiki Strike books, rejoice!

It's possible that I'm just a bit slow on the uptake, but I've just received word that a third novel will be published. This one, will, quote, "be amazing! (Seriously. I’m really excited.) Kiki must fight the forces of evil in order to claim the throne of Pokrovia. Betty gets a few lessons on what it means to be a “lady.” Eventually, the two plot lines collide in the tunnels under Paris."

This book will include etiquette lessons, secret societies, escargot, female baldness, and (gasp!) a love triangle!

A love triangle?! Let's speculate!

Betty/Kaspar- the perfect pair. At the end of the second novel, Betty and Kaspar seemed to be perfectly in love! But will it stay this way...?

Kiki/??- Kiki always seems a bit too busy to have time for a boy. But this might change, what with her being a princess and all.

Ananka- She deserves a boyfriend. (On a completely different topic, my mother once wanted to name me Sananka)

Opinions?

I'll be posting a review just as soon as I can read it. Can't wait, stay tuned!

Welcome to Sanna's Stories!

Hello, and welcome to Sanna's Stories! I'll be your guide for as long as you stay!

Not really, though. I'm actually just a thirteen-year-old blogger with far too much free time on her hands. But I do love reading, writing, and drawing. I also love following other people's blogs (my favorite include The LibrariYAn and Charlotte's Library).

So, what can you expect to find on this blog?
-Book Reviews (I'm open to ARC and/or Rough Drafts)
-Tidbits of Writing (Mine, as well as collected quotes from actual authors)
-Pictures/Videos (As soon as I get everything set up)
-Contests (Again, as soon as everything is set up)
-Random-ness, and things I feel like posting (This could be anything)

So, welcome! Enjoy your stay here, and please comment/subscribe!
